I wanted to comment on your Rio Road pin.  Around 1990 I was visiting Charlottesville and asked a friend who'd lived here his whole life about the origins and pronunciation of Rio Road.   His answer was that it had nothing to do with river in Spanish but that it was what was left of the old Route 10. The explanation was that the road signs used to say "R10". Have you heard this version of the story?
